The Art of Alone Time

There have been so many changes in my life this fall, but one of the most notable ones is that I have my own space. For the first time in my life I don’t share my living space with anybody, and that is a huge adjustment. I wouldn’t have even thought about living alone until my life didn’t quite go as planned, and I found myself moving across the country with a month to prepare. For as long as I can remember my mom told me that living alone was an empowering experience and that she loved it when she was my age. I was never sure why until these past few months in Atlanta. I was afraid of living alone for the longest time, and I still have moments when I might hear a noise and think something is wrong. But so far, this change seems to be a positive one. I was able to start over in a new place, and make my apartment my home just for me. My home is incredibly pink, as you might have guessed. My apartment reflects who I am, and anyone who comes to visit will see a visual representation of who I am.

If I want to be a mermaid, I can be a mermaid.

If I want to be a mermaid, I can be a mermaid.

My home is my space, and I spend a lot of time in it. What do I do when I am home? Well that depends. I can be found working out, writing, reading, doing face masks or other parts of my beauty routine, getting ready for classes, or simply watching TV and enjoying my time alone. I can wear what I want, do the dishes when I want and do absolutely nothing when I want without the fear of being disrupted. It has been an incredibly freeing experience for me. And while some might worry or wonder what I do all day, I can guarantee that it is productive.

One of my favorite things to do to unwind from the day or week is to do a face mask. Recently, I have been trying out a new face mask that I have absolutely fallen in love with. The company that makes it is calledFRÉ,they have a face mask called Detox Me that is perfect for my lifestyle. It is formulated specifically for use after workouts to purify the skin making sure that sweat doesn’t clog the pores. Unlike many other masks that recommend 10 minutes of use or more, Detox Me is left on for 3-5 minutes. I have found excellent results using this mask and I get to offer you 25% off for the next 48 hours to try it for yourself! I have incredibly sensitive skin and this is the first mask that I have used that fights breakouts, but doesn’t dry out or irritate my skin.I wouldn’t endorse a product if I didn’t love it, the Detox Me mask has helped me take charge of my skin again, no matter how many workouts I want to do!

If you want to try it out, use this link: for 25% for the next 48 hours ONLY!

I was nervous about living alone, because it was something that I had never done before. Would I like it? Would I get too lonely? Would anyone even hear from me? Since being here I have learned that being alone for me is a gift. I have the time and space to do exactly what I want, when I want. I don’t have to worry about disturbing anyone when I wake up early to go to work out, or being judged for going to bed before 10 pm almost every single night.

It’s my place, my rules.
